Current Behavior
Whenever I've interacted with the transfer of ownership feature in Anytype only bugs have happened.
The first bug I've encountered was that the channel was made inaccessible to certain devices. [Have not been able to replicate thanks to third bug]
The second bug I've encountered was that upon being transferred ownership and closing the app completely the channel has disappeared, Channel in question was a Get Started channel. [Have not been able to reproduce]
The third bug I've encountered is simply that whenever transferring ownership it becomes impossible to enable member link sharing again. [Have reproduced it multiple times between a new user I've made on Windows and my user on Linux]
Expected Behavior
When transferring the ownership new owner has both access to channel and ability to manage member invitation freely.
Steps To Reproduce
Bug 1:
- Invite member
- Make them admin
- Transfer Ownership
- Leave channel
- New owner reinvites old owner
- Channel becomes inaccessible in some devices (Mainly Linux computers) afterwards.
Bug 2:
Steps 1 through 4 of Bug 1;
5. Crash anytype
6. Channel no longer exists.
Bug 3:
Steps 1 through 3 of Bug 1;
4. Member Invitations are disabled
5. Enable invitation
6. Get stopped by a duplicate link error.
Environment
- OS: CachyOS June 26
- Version: 0.56.1
Anything else?
There was two crashes and I have made a few screenshots.
Idk how to code to make a pull request.
Crash file crash_2026-08-12T20_41_46 happened during Bug 2.
Crash file crash_2026-08-12T20_34_02 happened while accepting a member invite request on windows and immediately making member admin.
