COOLForge Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

Purpose

This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") documents the rights granted by contributors to COOLNETWORKS. This allows COOLNETWORKS to offer COOLForge under both open source (AGPL-3.0) and commercial licenses.

Definitions

  • "You" - the individual or legal entity making a Contribution
  • "Contribution" - any original work of authorship submitted to this project, including modifications or additions to existing work
  • "Project" - COOLForge and related repositories maintained by COOLNETWORKS

Grant of Rights

By submitting a Contribution, you agree to the following:

1. Copyright License

You grant COOLNETWORKS a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to:

  • Reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, and distribute your Contribution and such derivative works
  • Sublicense these rights to third parties (including under commercial license terms)

2. Patent License

You grant COOLNETWORKS a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, use, sell, offer for sale, import, and otherwise transfer your Contribution, where such license applies only to patent claims licensable by you that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution.

3. Moral Rights

To the extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights in your Contribution that would prevent COOLNETWORKS from exercising the rights granted above.

Your Representations

You represent that:

  1. You have the right to grant this license - Your Contribution is your original creation, or you have sufficient rights to grant the licenses above

  2. Employment - If your Contribution is made in the course of employment, you have obtained permission from your employer to submit it

  3. Third-party content - If your Contribution includes third-party materials, you have identified them and their license terms

No Obligation

You understand that:

  • COOLNETWORKS is not obligated to include your Contribution in the Project
  • Decisions about inclusion are at COOLNETWORKS's sole discretion
  • This Agreement does not create an employment or partnership relationship

How to Sign

By submitting a pull request or patch to this project, you indicate your acceptance of this Agreement.

For significant contributions, COOLNETWORKS may request explicit written agreement.
