See the images directory for the most important images, especially the Kitodo logo with variations and parts. The logo should have a license which is compatible with Wikipedia (Commons) and with publications, for example presentations. Therefore I suggest to use CC BY 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International) for it. Some UI images are also part of the repository. These images are very simple. I don't know whether they need a special license, too. But as part of the UI, it might make the handling easier. Focusing on the Kitodo logo and adding a license remark for it (also on https://www.kitodo.org/community/logo-und-praesentationen where an additional SVG variant could be nice) would be sufficient for now in my opinion. |

Clarification process within @kitodo/kitodo-board has started, but not finalized yet. |

@kitodo/kitodo-board decided: Kitodo-Logo can be licensed under CC BY 4.0. @stweil : How to go on with this topic? |
|
@stweil --> is this enough? (or anything else to be considered?) |
|
That's perfect – many thanks! |

Ok, I will close this discussion now (@stweil : Feel free to re-open it, if needed, or just create a new one). |

The logo was now added to Commons and Wikidata, and it is shown in the German, English and Macedonian Wikipedia. |

@stweil:
As PR6110 has now a defined (minimal context) and #1301 now has focus about (potential) new license headers in the source files, I would like to follow up the discussion about licensing images, which you have started in #1301.
Can you put here references, links or similiar, to the images we talk about ? (where are these image in this RePo)
So, that I can take for discussion in KITODO-Board?
