Unable to backup automatically or manually

Steps to reproduce

1. Leave the device for automatic backup to trigger.
2. Come back to see a 0B file in backup folder.
3. For manual backup, go to setting and run it manually.
4. After backup completing, check to see a 0B file in backup folder.

Expected behavior

The backup should have been completed as usual and a proper backup file to be generated.

Actual behavior

The backup process appears to run normally but it results in a 0B backup file.
